Dollfie Dream Kiriha at AnimeExpo 2010 in Los Angeles
I have always heard about how Anime Expo is one of the largest anime convention in North America but I have never once thought about going there myself in previous years. However, the convergence of various factors this year including the chance of meeting some of the friends I have made online at figure.fm, a trip to Volks USA and meeting Danny in person were enough to persuade me to make this journey. So, for this past weekend, I have picked my most pampered Dollfie Dream, DD娃娃 Kiriha Kuze 紅瀬桐葉 to accompany me to Anime Expo 2010 in Los Angeles!

I am just going to say it to get it off my chest, Natsuki Takamizawa (鷹見沢 菜月) deserves more attention than she is getting! Ok, while I don't think Natsuki is in the same league as Feena in terms of elegance and beauty, and she may just be a plain Jane next door neighborhood girl; but she is quite cute in her own rights, I don't understand why there hasn't been a single figure made of her yet.
Dollfie Dream Asuka, Rin and Saber Photo Session
Been quiet for the past couple of days, but I finally started to feel better for the past day so I decided to catch this chance to go out with my Dollfie Daughters again. The main objective this time was to correct a few oversights I had in the last outing so I had to take DD Asuka アスカ and DD Rin 遠坂 凛 out again, but that would be a tad too dry just to keep taking photos of those two so I decided to take DD Saber out with me as well.

Well, I actually tried to throw in a mixture of themes this time, involving the sexy, sisterly love and some light yuri perhaps =3.

Alright, so I finally made it to the new cast on the PS2 port version Estel Freesia. What can I say about her? Estel is quite a tsundere, more than Natsuki (especially after I started her Moonlight Cradle arc) and definitely a tough nut to crack! I am going to try a slightly different approach and compact her story a bit more, Feena's story was way too long and I probably had way too much details in the last writeup.

It's been another intense camera action day as I have a lot on my agenda. The first order of business is to have two of my lovely daughters to try out the two of the most adorable maid dress set from Kyoto 7, Sasara School Swimsuit Maid and He is My Master Maid Dress set. There is no argument for who should wear the School Swimsuit Maid, but there was room for debate for the He is My Master Dress set, I finally decided to have Kiriha model for us, why Kiriha? Because she is my most pampered daughter! There will be some hints of yuri action here and there in this photo session, as I finally come to term to fulfill the promise I made way back to take some yuri photos for my daughters XD. How long has it been since I acquired the cloak for Saber? Hmm ever since Airi arrived? Yeah, I been wanting to do a Saber solo shoot out for that long, but laziness and procrastination delayed it for this long! Errr, not really, I was busy with other stuff and had the lighting setup packed away and didn't pull them back out until just recently. Anyway, I been wanting to do this shoot out with Saber standing in front of the Buckingham Palace and I have finally done it! I think I managed to pack a few pretty good shots in there, hopefully you would enjoy them as much as I did :D

Shining Blade Dollfie Dream Sakuya’s Arrival
Posted on May 17, 2012 | 8 Comments | This post has 393 viewsI have made no secret in the past that I have always been a fan of Tony Taka's work, so when I picked up the news back in March that Volks was getting ready to release Dollfie Dream Sakuya サクヤ based on the PSP game Shining Blade as the 3rd Dollfie Dream based on the work of Tony Taka, I knew it in my heart that I have to pick her up even before the official photos were available! Based on the information from my contact who attended Dolpa 27, Rise and Cirno were actually sold out a little bit ahead Sakuya and based on unofficial counting, Volks actually made more Dollfie Dream available at the event compared to HTDP Kyoto 9, although it is unclear if that will translate into more DDs available for the After Event lottery. I knew I couldn't wait or leave it up to chances (since Sakuya is a "must have" DD for me, so I went ahead with the Auction route. Thanks to the lighting fast reaction from my deputy service, Sakuya has arrived from Japan within merely six days! -

The actual After Event sale is on May 26th but Volks will begin accepting After Event lottery applications for limited items between May18th - 22th Japan time. Since MDD Cirno was not available for Volks USA lottery, this After Event represent the only opportunity for those of you who are looking to acquire one directly from Volks; although it is not 100% clear at this point Cirno will be available to international lottery, but I have yet to see any indication that suggest otherwise. -

Dolpa 27 Volks USA Announcement: Shining Blade and Persona 4
Posted on April 22, 2012 | No Comments | This post has 307 viewsIt's been just over 2 weeks since the official announcement of the limited Dollfie Dream due to be available at Dolpa 27 on May 6th, today Volks USA has confirmed that Shining Blade Dollfie Dream Sakuya and Persona 4 Rise Kujikawa will be available for lottery in US. The most notable omission of announcement is the Touhou Dollfie Dream Cirno, which is apparently not available for Volks USA lottery. In reality, that's not totally out of the realm of my expectation since Touhou merchandises are never really officially made available for sale outside of Japan... Dollfie Dream Sakuya Izayoi recently broke that trend by exploiting the loop hole of International After Event lottery, and I expect the same will hold true for Cirno, only time will tell for sure. -

I must say that Rise came as a bit of a surprise since I was expecting 2 Dollfie Dream from the Shining Blade series, however, it sort of serve my purpose since I am not really interested in Persona 4 personally XD. Sculpt by Kosuke Kitahara, previous work includes Rina Ogata, Kiriha Kuze, Beatrice, Moe/Natsuki, and Haruka Niimi etc, Rise really came with a very unique face sculpt as far as a Dollfie Dream is concern. While her dedicated webpage isn't ready yet, but DD-blog has released a couple of photos today~ -
